Portuguese Chicken Burgers aka Frangos Remake

Frangos has to be one of my favourite takeaways in Sydney, and if you know you know - their Portuguese chicken burgers are just the best!

Now their Chilli sauce is top secret, so I improvised here and used Nandos chilli sauce which is available at major supermarkets!

However the SW Whole Egg mayo is a must! It is what they use, so makes this burger taste just like it.

Serving with shoestring fries is a must! Enjoy and let me know what you think below!

Prep Time: 00min

Cooking Time: 00min

Serves: 00

Ingredients:

  • 4 pieces of chicken – I use the schnitzel pieces so they’re thin

  • 4 burger buns

  • 2 tomatoes sliced thin

  • Iceberg lettuce shredded

  • 4 slices Provolone cheese

  • Nandos Chilli Sauce

  • SW Whole Egg Mayo

    Chicken coating:

  • 1 cup plain flour

  • 2 TSP onion powder

  • 1 TSP garlic powder

  • 2 TSP sweet paprika

  • 2 eggs

Method:

Place your chicken between two pieces of baking paper and hit it with a meat mallet to get it nice and thin

Mix together the flour and spices and whisk 2 eggs in a separate bowl

Coat the chicken in the egg and then flour mixture

In a pan over a medium high heat, add some oil and fru for a few minutes each side until golden and cooked through. Drain on a paper towel

Place the buns in a 20c oven with the cheese on the base bun. Cook for 4-5 mins until melted – keep an eye on it so it doesn’t burn.

Place the shredded lettuce on first, then the tomato, chicken and cover in chilli sauce and mayo.

Serve with shoestring fries and enjoy!
